Radio EMA

Radio EMA is an online radio station for adolescents with mental health problems who are hospitalized at Espace Artur (formerly known as Espace Méditerranéen de l'Adolescence). The radio is part of the Cultural Care program, along with the visual arts, music room, media library, and other programs, whose goal is therapeutic through culture.

According to Marcel Rufo, the organization's founder, culture is a vehicle through which teens can open up to the world. He therefore placed culture at the heart of the care plan, and these cultural tools complement medical care. Adolescents are the primary actors and beneficiaries of Radio EMA, which completes its therapeutic work by broadcasting exclusively on the web; it's therefore a web radio that offers therapy 2.0!

We are proud to support Radio EMA's work since 2022. This initiative is born from the meeting between Joseph Machiah and Mickaële Elfassi in Marseille.

Teens flourish through a variety of radio formats: they express themselves and reveal themselves and regain self-confidence in Talk Shows on themes that affect them, while being the musical programmers of the shows. Teens revalue their self-esteem by recording songs, they open up to life perspectives through testimonies of guests accomplished in their professional fields that they interview, a source of inspiration but also of human exchanges. They open up to life and its horizons by going to cultural places such as theaters, music festivals, contemporary circus shows etc. The results are spectacular and the transformations visible before our eyes !
